Having consulted our professional medical bodies and Public Health England, we remain open. However, in what is a rapidly changing environment, we will follow expert scientific advice and keep you informed of developments. We take our clients’ health seriously and will act responsibly by implementing whatever measures are necessary to reduce the spread of the new 2019 Coronavirus (CV19). Here is the latest COVID-19 update (21 March 2020).

As you know, we are located in the Putneymead Medical Centre, where the doctors are now conducting telephone consultations only in the first instance, which means very few patients are actually entering the building. Those that do attend are being screened. In addition, our cleaning contractors are doing a “deep clean” on a regular basis and undertaking additional disinfection of commonly handled furniture and equipment.

We have taken our own measures, which include screening patients, intensive and regular cleaning of the reception area and clinic rooms and careful disinfection of all treatment tables and equipment between each patient. We are also providing our therapists with masks and gloves, should they be requested. Regular hand washing and anti-bacterial gels are mandatory for clinicians and clients alike.

If you would prefer not to come into clinic, our osteopathic and physiotherapy team are available for video consultations instead. For details about how you can do this, please call our reception on 020 8789 3881.

Our psychotherapist and cognitive behavioural therapists, Fiona Worthington and Anna Tingle, are also on hand to provide professional help with stress and anxiety management, either by phone or video conferencing.

We continue to run some of our exercise classes such as Tai Chi, Yoga, Senior Fitness and Pilates using the video communication platform Zoom. We understand how important it is for physical as well as mental well-being to be able to continue with regular exercise, especially in such uncertain times. You will be able to share the experience in a small group and to exercise safely from your home under the professional guidance of our teachers. We will be emailing further details of these classes shortly.

For those who prefer it, we also offer the option of 1:1 remote tuition.

In the current climate, there is inevitably a high level of anxiety and fear. However, according to the Harvard Medical School we can reduce our vulnerability to illness by strengthening our immune system by adopting a healthy lifestyle. They recommend the following to boost your immune system:

  • Don’t smoke.
  • Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables. Although scientific evidence is weak, supplements such as Vitamin C, and minerals such as Zinc along with Probiotics may help.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Maintain a healthy weight.
  • If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.
  • Get adequate sleep.
  • Take steps to avoid infection: wash hands frequently and cook food correctly.
  • Try to minimise stress.

We remain committed to providing you with the best healthcare we can offer in what are challenging and unprecedented circumstances for as long as we are able, whether this is in person, by telephone or by video consultation. We are still here for you!

Best wishes and keep well.
