Linia Patel is an award winning Dietitian. At The Putney Clinic she offers online nutrition services. She is a highly passionate and motivated Dietitian with extensive experience within a variety of nutrition and health settings.
Linia graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2003 with a Bsc in Biochemistry. In 2005, she obtained an MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics (also from the University of Cape Town). After moving to London, she received an MSc in Human Nutrition from King's College London, in which she focused on Sports Nutrition.
More recently, in September 2020, she obtained a PHD in Public Health from the University of Milan. As part of her research, she investigated the recent trends of socioeconomic inequality in the dietary patterns among adults in the UK.
Linia has also completed additional training in Gut Microbiome Certification. She has a Diploma in Sports Nutrition with the IOC (International Olympic Committee), as well as Level 1 training in Anthropometry through ISAK.
In her role as a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, Linia has made a number of television appearances British TV. She has appeared on current affairs programmes such as BBC1 Breakfast, This Morning (ITV) and Sky News. In her capacity as a Nutrition Expert, she has also appeared on programmes such as 'Food: Truth or Scare' (Series 1 & 2); the 'Better Breakfast Campaign' and 'Healthy Schools' (ITV), and 'Big Fat Lies about Nutrition' (Channel 5). In addition to this, Linia also contributes to printed and online press, having had articles published in the Guardian, Times; Independent and Cosmopolitan.
