COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL COACHING & PERSONAL COACHING
WHAT IS COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL COACHING (CBC)?
CBC is a talking therapy that believes our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all connected. In a few short words ‘we feel the way we think’. If we can change our beliefs, our thoughts we can change how we feel. It focuses on difficulties that we are experiencing now, rather than past problems, but if you want to talk about that, then that’s okay.
We teach people to monitor their thoughts – to catch them – to stand back and reflect on their thoughts and feelings and to think about alternatives then test out ideas about themselves and others. In time this can lead to changes in the emotion or the behaviour that is disturbing or stopping them from achieving what they want.
WHAT IS PERSONAL COACHING?
The definition for me of coaching is to provide the means for clients to make changes in their life to achieve their goals. To enable you to take action. Coaching is a defined process. My job is to help you identify what you want to change, what might be holding you back. What beliefs you have that are preventing you from getting where you want to go. Together we work out a plan and then I am there to motivate you, and encourage you to be accountable, so that you get there.
