MASSAGE THERAPY

Sport and Therapeutic Massage

Massage therapy is a manual therapy that concentrates on treating the soft tissues of the body, such as the muscles and ligaments. Massage improves the blood supply to the muscles by stretching and kneading areas of tightness and contraction. As many musculoskeletal problems are stress related, massage can be a very effective way to help the body to balance and heal itself.

Our massage therapy services

Our therapeutic treatments are tailor-made to the individual and can combine deep tissue, sports massage and advanced massage techniques such as trigger point therapy, soft tissue release, lymphatic massage and neuromuscular techniques. Working intuitively with slow deep release, it allows the body to relax.

Benefits of massage

Massage is a manipulation of the soft tissue, particularly muscles, and can be beneficial in several ways.

  • Promotes suppleness of the muscles
  • Improves circulation, lymphatic drainage and joint mobility
  • Relieves chronic muscular tension, aches and pain
  • Releases emotional tension and stress
  • Promotes a general sense of well-being

It is an effective way to prevent and treat sport injuries and can be used alone or as a part of rehabilitation treatments such as physiotherapy and osteopathy. In addition to this, it can relieve tired stiff joints and reduce swelling. It is a safe and non-invasive therapy and is suitable for all ages and conditions. By stimulating the lymphatic system, it can help with chronic skin conditions, which young people often suffer from. As well as this, massage can alleviate discomfort in pregnancy and speed up recovery after a surgery. In old age, it is important to maintain good mobility, and regular massage can help with that.
