Yin Yoga

WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

Yin Yoga is a gentle, slow-paced practice where we hold poses for longer, with the focus being to work on the connective tissues and joints of the body. In Yin Yoga classes, we practise floor-based poses. These poses can be held for up to five minutes, depending on your level of experience. By holding these poses, we encourage relaxation and release in both the mind and the body.

OUR YIN YOGA CLASSES

Our Yin Yoga classes are suitable for all levels; whether you are new to yoga or want to deepen and develop your knowledge and understanding of the practice. This class is a combination of different yoga techniques. We look at posture and breath work, as well as mediation and relaxation techniques. In addition, we explore how a yoga practice can stretch the body and quieten a busy mind, thus encouraging greater peace and happiness.

At present, we currently offer online group and 1:1 Yin Yoga classes.

BOOKING A CLASS

At present we are unable to take class bookings or accept cash payments at our reception. Therefore, students must make all bookings and payments via our online booking system. Enrolment closes 60 minutes before classes are due to commence, so we urge you to book early to avoid disappointment. 1:1 SESSIONS

We currently offer online 1:1 Yin Yoga. These sessions are unavailable to book online. So, if you would like to book a 1:1 session, please send an email to info@yogamama.co.uk or call 07939 589 083. See below for pricing options for single sessions and discounted block bookings.

ATTENDING ONLINE

Enrolment for online classes closes 60 minutes before the class start time, so book early to avoid disappointment. Please note, online class bookings are not valid on our in-studio classes.

When scheduling your class, you will receive a confirmation email which includes the Zoom meeting link for your class. Join the ‘meeting’ 5 minutes or so before your class is due to starts with your audio and video switched on so that the teacher can say hello. You can then go off and do other things or get settled before the class starts.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

We  run our online classes using ZOOM. In order to join a class, download the latest version of Zoom. We recommend leaving plenty of time for this so as to avoid any last minute hitches before your class starts.

Mobile and tablet users can download the ZOOM app from The App Store or Google Play.

Please ensure your device is charged sufficiently for the duration of the class (60 minutes).

ATTENDING THE STUDIO

TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

We have reduced our in studio class capacity to 6 in order to allow correct (1m+) social distancing. We kindly request students follow the guidelines below.

Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled class and use a face covering in all communal areas. You can remove this once inside the studio. Remember to wash your hands or use sanitising gel before entering the studio. Before entering the studio, we offer students pre-class temperature screenings.

We have delimited mat spaces in order to help you stay physically distanced. Please bring your own mat and any props you wish to use, as we are unable to provide mats or props at present. We do have some mats and props on sale if required.

Teachers will not be offering hands-on adjustments for the time being. Finally, we ask you keep personal belongings to a minimum.
