SENIOR YOGA TEACHER & CO-DIRECTOR OF THE PUTNEY CLINIC OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
Cherie Lathey is the co-director of The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy. She is also the director of Yoga Mama Wellness and the Yoga Mama Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training School. Cherie has accumulated nearly 30 years working in the health and fitness industry. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher and specialises in Ashtanga, Yin and Pregnancy Yoga.
Cherie has been practising Ashtanga Yoga since 1994, after which she trained to become a yoga teacher. In 2007, she gained her Pregnancy Yoga teaching qualification through the Life Centre in London. She subsequently went on to become the creator of the first Pregnancy Yoga app for the iPhone and iPad.
Cherie has travelled many times to Mysore in India to study and practise at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore with the Jois family. She has hosted and assisted her own Ashtanga yoga teacher Nancy Gilgoff here in Putney.
After suffering a back fracture on a trip to India, Cherie undertook further training in Yin yoga with Norman Blair. She now combines both Ashtanga and Yin yoga in her own life, and maintains a daily practice. She has a practical East-meets-West approach to yoga and a lighthearted view on life.
Cherie is a regular contributor to OM Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine and the Elephant Journal. She also runs her own blog site, Yoga Mama London, in which she shares her own thoughts about yoga.
“My yoga practice keeps me balanced, energised and sane – the stresses of the week disappear and I feel strong enough to take on the world. Having tried yoga many times before, I have found that Cherie’s practice is ideal for me.”

“When I met Cherie I felt like I’d finally found the teacher for me. In only one session a week I quickly saw a change in both my energy levels and muscle tone. Cherie’s classes are dynamic and leave you feeling like you’ve had a good work out. I can’t recommend her enough and owe the return of my waist to her!”
