PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY
Paediatric Physiotherapy is the branch of physiotherapy that concerns the health and well-being of babies, children and young people. The age range of patients varies from new-born babies to teenagers. In addition, paediatric physiotherapists have knowledge and experience of child development and childhood disabilities.
Treatments
In order to find the right treatment, paediatric physiotherapists will first assess the child’s needs. This initial assessment allows them to create a customised programme of treatment that caters to individual needs. They work in conjunction with the child and its parents in order to maximise the child’s physical abilities and independence.
Paediatric Physiotherapy can be used to treat a broad spectrum of conditions, including physical disability or impairment, developmental difficulties or neurological problems. With babies, toddlers, and young children, the paediatric physiotherapist can offer a review of developmental milestones. As well as this, they can give advice on stages of development and play.
