BABY MASSAGE LONDON WORKSHOP
90-minute workshops with Hajni Varadi
Baby Massage is the most natural and instinctive form of caring for babies. New-born babies experience the world through their senses, such as touch, smell, taste, sound and vision. These senses develop gradually, but from the moment of birth, babies already understand the language of touch. With this in mind, we offer Baby Massage workshops in conjunction with our colleagues at Yoga Mama.
Benefits of Baby Massage
Here are some of the benefits:
- Massage helps to create a unique bond between the parents and the baby.
- Gives first-time parents more confidence when handling their baby.
- Relaxes both the baby and the mother/father.
- Mothers who suffer from post-natal depression feel more positive when they experience their baby’s response to the massage.
- Massage helps parents to be aware of their baby’s body and the developmental changes they going through.
- Regularly massaged babies develop their motor skills quickly.
- Improved circulation, healthy skin and a strong immune system.
- As the baby relaxes during the massage, their muscles relax which, in return, can help easing colic pain and constipation.
- Baby massage is highly therapeutic. It can help with several ailments throughout early childhood.

Baby massage FAQ’s
What age is best for baby massage?
You can start baby massage from birth, but many parents find it easier once their baby is around 6 weeks old. At this age, babies are usually more alert, settled, and ready to enjoy gentle touch.
When should you start massaging your baby?
You can begin gentle massages a few weeks after birth, once your baby has adjusted to life outside the womb. Always follow your baby's cues and start with short, soothing sessions.
When to start baby massage in NHS?
The NHS recommends starting baby massage after your six-week postnatal check. Some NHS-run baby massage classes also begin around this time to support bonding and relaxation.
Is 5 months too old for baby massage?
Not at all! Baby massage is beneficial at any age during infancy. At 5 months, babies often enjoy the interaction and it can support physical development, digestion, and sleep.
