Super Stretch

SUPER STRETCH

90-minute workshop with Cherie

Next date to be announced

The current guidance from both the American College of Sports Medicine and Harvard Medical School is that most people should perform flexibility exercises for each of the major muscle groups in both the upper and lower body, at least twice a week. In order to help you achieve this, we run this Super Stretch workshop, as well as our Stretch and Release courses.

Our Super Stretch workshops

This Super Stretch workshop devised by Clive and Cherie Lathey. The programme is an integration of Clive’s 37 years of working as a Registered Osteopath in elite sport and with people in pain, alongside Cherie’s 35 years as a senior Yoga teacher and fitness instructor. Whether you have reduced muscle and joint flexibility as a result of a sedentary job with too much sitting, getting older, or the result of playing sport, this course will benefit you.

This is a whole body stretching programme in which we will teach you a series of exercises that will benefit both your physical and mental health. We will provide the programme in both a paper and video format, thus making it easy for you to maintain your new found flexibility, while, at the same time, helping to keep you in optimal health.

What is stretching?

Stretching is a controlled and deliberate lengthening of muscles and fascia, to increase muscle flexibility and improve the range of motion in our joints.

The benefits of stretching

  • Improved muscle flexibility and mobility of our joints.
  • Improved blood circulation: increasing oxygen and removing waste from our muscles.
  • Better posture: reducing tightness in the postural muscles improves our postural alignment.
  • Reduces risk of injury.
  • Improves performance in daily life and sport.
  • Reduces stress: calms the mind while stretching, particularly when focusing on mindfulness and meditation.
