WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT INJURY AND PAIN

Free online talk with Dr Caroline Marlow PhD

Thursday 21 November 2024 (7-8pm)

Join Dr Caroline Marlow PhD (Injury and Pain Psychologist at The Putney Clinic), for this free, informative online talk titled 'What Everyone Needs to Know about Injury and Pain' on Thursday 21 November (7-8pm).

Anyone can experience injury or pain at any time. Some people heal quickly, whereas, for others, injury or pain may continue or return. Very often, this will have a negative impact on their everyday work, life activities, health and wellbeing. However, recent research has revolutionised our understanding of the causes of - and solutions to - injury and pain. Not only this, but it has also revealed that much of what we often believe and do is in fact unhelpful for injury and pain prevention and recovery.

During the talk, Caroline will cover the following topics:

  • What happens within our body and brain when we’re injured or in pain, and how this affects recovery.
  • How injury, pain and recovery are affected by what we believe, think, feel, and do.
  • The importance of doing the right things quickly for the best recovery.
  • Practical advice for injury and pain management, and how to give yourself and others the best chance of a good recovery.
  • At the end of the talk, there will also be time for a brief Q&A session.
