WOMEN'S HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY
As part of our Women's Health Clinic, we offer a Women's Health Physiotherapy service. Our team of on-site physiotherapists have specialist expertise in the treatment of women's health issues. Common health issues where this treatment can be helpful include: back pain during and after pregnancy, pelvic girdle pain, incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
Women's Health Physiotherapy for pregnant women
Women's Health Physiotherapy can help your body to adapt through the different stages of your pregnancy. The treatment is a gentle, safe and effective way of dealing with stresses and strains that have been placed on your body due to the growing foetus. Book in for your women’s health assessment with our women’s health physiotherapist. She addresses a range of issues, including:
- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Urinary incontinence
- Pelvic girdle pain
Women's Health Physiotherapy for postnatal women
Postnatal Mummy MOT
Our Postnatal Mummy MOT consists of a 1-hour session of thorough investigation with our specialist Women's Health Physiotherapist. This examination will include:
- Assessing the abdominal muscles for rectus diastasis (abdominal separation) and muscle weakness.
- Assessing the pelvic floor post childbirth/ rehabilitation exercise guidance.
- Checking for any postnatal-related pain, including back and pelvic girdle pain.
- Advice on returning to exercise safely and guidance on good posture.
